How did you do?

How did you do

Notice this time that “did you” is usually more contracted, as it’s a less formal phrase than “How do you do?”. Practice it slowly at first. It has a nice, rhythmic feel.

We ask this when someone has done something difficult or challenging, like an exam, or sports competition, or maybe an interview.
